Bit of food for thought, consider being industry facing instead of lab. If you’re directly involved with operations than it is significantly less fake and gay.
On the other hand, fuck uni, get a job for a few years until you’ve got a better idea of whats tolerable/gives you enough time for what makes life enjoyable
This hits pretty close to home. I was more or less on the same path your on, pick a stem degree with a vague career plan. I ended up cutting the other way and stuck with it and got a office job out of it, and I can't say I'm perfectly happy with it.
All of what I thought I'd hate about corporate life I hate, and I'm basically stuck with it now. The stability is nice and the job pays well but I definitely feel like I gave up on following (or even having) desires.
Most I'll say is dont get cause up on "what if". If you know what trade offs your making, and are content with where you end up, you'll be better off than most.

Better to have this crisis during college than after, trust me, my life feels over
